Born 1975 , Ali Hassaan graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Cairo, Department of Painting, 1997. He received a Master Degree of Fine Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy of Painting, the Faculty of Fine Arts, Cairo. He works currently as an assistant professor in the Painting Department, the Faculty of Fine Arts, Luxor
He moved many years ago to the city of Luxor, which had a great impact on the topics he dealt with and interested in his works.
Hassan began to monitor and deal with the vocabularies of the environment of southern Egypt whether people or places in a modern way, as this monitoring was not only a superficial observation, but Hassan goes into the depth and contents of the corresponding vocabularies, so this had a great impact on the artworks that he has produced. His artworks present a lot of modern concepts and problems facing the man in that environment and are intertwined at the same time and extended to what the man faces outside the surroundings of that environment in the world as a whole. There are many questions that are raised through the artworks in front of the viewer who tries to answer them by watching the composition of the elements and symbols placed within the framework of the design or the diffuse lighting without specifying a clear source, saturated colors or multiple techniques within the painting.
Hassan held a number of solo exhibitions inside Egypt and many group exhibitions in Egypt, the Arab world and Europe. His artwork can be found at: The Museum of Modern Art in Cairo – the Nile Museum in Aswan – the Plastic Arts sector in Egypt, The British Embassy in Cairo, some governmental and non-governmental institutions and banks inside Egypt, Cultural centers and with individuals in the Arab world and Europe.
