Taha Abdulaal, an Iraqi artist born in 1979, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Baghdad in 2008. He later pursued higher education at the Faculty of Arts, Helwan University, where he obtained a Master’s degree in 2016 and a Doctorate in 2019. A member of both the Visual Arts Syndicate and the Visual Arts Association in Iraq, Taha has been showcasing his work in Cairo since 2016 through a series of solo and group exhibitions.
Taha's art draws heavily on the aesthetics of heritage, integrating artistic and decorative forms to craft distinctly oriental imagery. His human figures often reflect the iconic Sumerian features of ancient Iraqi art—still and contemplative, with wide, expressive eyes that evoke a sense of timelessness. By blending imagination, heritage, and cultural symbols, Taha reinterprets these elements in a contemporary, expressive style, creating visually striking works that celebrate the richness of Iraqi artistic tradition.
