Sarwat El Bahr is an artist, writer, and critic whose works have been showcased in over 30 local and international exhibitions in Germany and Italy. The pyramids remain a recurring theme throughout his art, which also features palm trees, landscapes, and Egyptian calligraphy. El Bahr founded the "Fikr wa Fan" gallery at the Goethe Institute in Alexandria. His group exhibitions include Contemporary Egyptian Art (1971) at the Palais Galliera Museum in Paris, Artists from Alexandria in Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, and Cyprus (1974), the 10th Mediterranean Biennale in Alexandria (1974), Egypt Week in Essen, Germany (1977), Young Egyptian Artists in Cordoba, Spain (1977), and the 12th Mediterranean Biennale (1978). El Bahr was mentored by Seif Wanly.
His works are part of public collections at the Museum of Fine Arts in Alexandria, the Mahmoud Said Museum in Alexandria, the Ministry of Culture in Cairo, the Egyptian Academy in Rome, and the International Museum of 20th Century Arts in New York.
